Safe + Sound Food Programs Week

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide safety initiative. At Nonprofit Safety Hero, we’re hopping on board with Safe + Sound Food Programs Week to encourage food programs to celebrate safety and learn how you can keep everyone safe: staff, volunteers, and the people you serve.

Why should you sign up? You know safety is important – that’s one reason. The other reason is that participating nonprofits in Washington can win a $100 gift card for your cause.

MONDAY (or before!)

Sign up and announce your participation in Safe + Sound Food Programs week. Here’s how:

  • Use the form at the bottom of the page to let us know your organization is participating. We’ll get you signed up for the $100 gift card drawing.
    (The fine print: Please note that only nonprofits based in Washington State are eligible.)
  • Share one of the following social media tiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, orTwitter.

TUESDAY

Play a game of Video Tag! Here’s how:

  • Find someone and “tag” them. They get to watch a 2-minute safety video.
  • When they’re done, they go and tag another person to watch a 2-minute video.

WEDNESDAY

Join us for the APP Lab and get your Accident Prevention Program questions answered.

  • The APP Lab will be held online on Wednesday, August 9 from 2 to 3 pm Pacific time.

THURSDAY

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is important for staying safe, and what you need varies according to the work you do. Let’s recognize the importance of PPE!

  • Take a picture of your staff and volunteers with their PPE.
  • Post it on social media and use the form below to send us a copy.

FRIDAY

Who is your safety champion? Celebrate them! Use the form below to send us a picture of the person responsible for your safety program.

  • If that’s you, then send us a safety selfie!
  • Don’t be shy! Share your photo on social media and tell everyone why safety matters to your cause.
